Design & Engineering
Engineered cold-formed steel framing for load-bearing walls, floors, and roofs, complete with shop drawings and code-compliant structural documentation for commercial and multifamily projects.
Frame X Systems delivers architect-led, installation-ready metal stud framing for Phoenix projects where speed, coordination, and dimensional accuracy matter. Our cold-formed steel systems are engineered, modeled, precision-manufactured, and delivered in sequence to reduce field labor and surprises. From commercial and multifamily builds to custom structures, we help teams plan for the Valley’s demanding heat, tight schedules, and code-conscious construction requirements before work reaches the jobsite.

Coordinated cold-formed steel framing services that improve constructability, accuracy, scheduling, and jobsite efficiency.
Engineered cold-formed steel framing for load-bearing walls, floors, and roofs, complete with shop drawings and code-compliant structural documentation for commercial and multifamily projects.
Technical plan reviews identify framing conflicts and opportunities before construction, helping project teams improve efficiency, limit change orders, and establish a clearer path to installation.
Detailed 3D framing coordination aligns cold-formed steel systems with architectural, structural, and MEP requirements to reduce clashes, RFIs, and costly field adjustments.
Architect-led collaboration helps optimize building concepts for structural feasibility, constructability, cost efficiency, and prefabricated steel framing performance from the earliest project stages.
Factory-built steel wall panels, trusses, and components are manufactured from coordinated models for consistent quality, accurate fit, less on-site cutting, and faster installation.
Installation-ready framing components arrive in a planned sequence, helping Phoenix jobsites reduce material handling, congestion, and delays while keeping crews focused on installation.

Share architectural and structural plans with our team for an initial review. We assess framing scope, feasibility, and key coordination needs, then provide budget pricing tailored to your Phoenix project’s requirements.

Principal Owner / Architect
Stephen Baker is the Principal Owner and Architect of Frame X Systems, bringing over 28 years of construction and architectural experience to the company he founded. As principal of both Frame X Systems and Baker Architects / Baker Studios, Stephen pioneered the architect-led approach to cold-formed steel framing, built on the belief that constructability challenges should be resolved before construction begins rather than during it. He leads the company's design philosophy, integrating BIM coordination and precision manufacturing to deliver installation-ready framing systems nationwide. Stephen is also a prolific educator, producing video content on construction cost savings, insulation techniques, risk management, and framing package specifications for architects, contractors, and developers. His vision continues to drive FrameX's mission of faster, cleaner, and more efficient construction outcomes for clients across the country.
Metal stud framing uses cold-formed steel studs, tracks, panels, and related components to create interior or structural wall systems. Unlike wood, steel resists rot, warping, decay, and fire, while providing consistent dimensions. For engineered projects, components can be designed for load-bearing walls, floors, roofs, and non-load-bearing partitions, then manufactured to match coordinated project documents.
