Roof Design Engineering
Engineered cold-formed steel roof framing design includes structural documentation, roof components, shop drawings, and coordinated details for code-compliant project execution.
Frame X Systems delivers installation-ready prefabricated roof systems built around coordinated cold-formed steel design, engineering, and precision manufacturing. By resolving constructability details before materials reach the jobsite, we help architects, contractors, and developers reduce field labor, limit rework, and keep complex residential, commercial, institutional, and multifamily projects moving with greater predictability nationwide.

Coordinated design, engineering, manufacturing, and delivery support for installation-ready cold-formed steel roof framing packages.
Engineered cold-formed steel roof framing design includes structural documentation, roof components, shop drawings, and coordinated details for code-compliant project execution.
Three-dimensional BIM coordination aligns roof framing with architectural, structural, and MEP systems, helping identify clashes before fabrication and installation.
Early collaboration helps project teams optimize roof framing for constructability, engineering feasibility, efficient detailing, and prefabricated steel fabrication.
Technical plan reviews identify framing conflicts and opportunities to improve installation efficiency, reduce change orders, and streamline roof-system execution.
Factory-built cold-formed steel trusses and framing components are manufactured from engineered models for dimensional accuracy and less on-site fabrication.
Roof framing components arrive in installation sequence to reduce jobsite congestion, material handling, and disruptions to the planned construction workflow.
A prefabricated roof system from Frame X Systems brings design, engineering, BIM coordination, manufacturing, and delivery into one coordinated framing package. Rather than leaving critical roof details to be solved in the field, our architect-led team works with project stakeholders early to address constructability, improve dimensional accuracy, and support cleaner installation. The result is an installation-ready cold-formed steel solution built to help projects move faster with fewer RFIs, adjustments, and change orders.

Principal Owner / Architect
Stephen Baker is the Principal Owner and Architect of Frame X Systems, bringing over 28 years of construction and architectural experience to the company he founded. As principal of both Frame X Systems and Baker Architects / Baker Studios, Stephen pioneered the architect-led approach to cold-formed steel framing, built on the belief that constructability challenges should be resolved before construction begins rather than during it. He leads the company's design philosophy, integrating BIM coordination and precision manufacturing to deliver installation-ready framing systems nationwide. Stephen is also a prolific educator, producing video content on construction cost savings, insulation techniques, risk management, and framing package specifications for architects, contractors, and developers. His vision continues to drive FrameX's mission of faster, cleaner, and more efficient construction outcomes for clients across the country.
Longevity depends on the roof covering, building design, climate exposure, maintenance, and quality of installation. For the structural framing beneath the roof, cold-formed steel offers strong long-term durability because it resists rot, warping, decay, and fire. A properly engineered prefabricated steel roof framing system can provide a stable, dimensionally accurate foundation for the selected roofing assembly.
